NEW! 2008 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
The top wine, and one with
25 or more years of potential, is the single-vineyard 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon
Reserve. Aged 20 months in 100% new oak, this is a limited production cuvee of
just under 200 cases. With compelling fruit intensity and a saturated purple
color, its notes of melted licorice, forest floor, blackberry and cassis linger
in the aromatics and in the mouth. Huge, concentrated, and even better than the
2007, this wine needs to be forgotten for 3-4 years and drunk over the
following two to three decades. This is one of my favorite unheralded producers
in Napa Valley. ...more...(PDF)
NEW! 2008 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Juliet
The less expensive 2008
Cabernet Sauvignon Juliet (76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and the rest
Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc from the parcel they called Juliet’s Bench)
shows off winemaker Dave Phinney’s terrific, sexy, opulent, flamboyant style. Personality-wise,
it is more like a 2007 than a 2008. Dense purple to the rim, with glorious
notes of graphite and black cherry liqueur intermixed with cassis and
blackberry, it possesses a subtle smokiness, a voluptuous texture, and a
layered finish that should please both your hedonistic and intellectual senses.
It will drink well for 15 or more years. ...more...(PDF)
NEW! 2008 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Cult
My least favorite of these
wines (although still outstanding) are the 400 cases of the 2008 Cult, which
come from a single-vineyard parcel within the holdings of Beau Vigne. Aged 22
months in mostly French oak, the wine has a deep ruby/purple color and plenty
of black cherry and black currant fruit, with hints of licorice, graphite,
herbs and smoke. It is medium to full-bodied, still somewhat closed, but
promising. ...more...(PDF)
2007 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Juliet
A very good value in top-flight Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is Beau Vigne's 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Juliet. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it exhibits a dark ruby/purple color in addition to abundant amouts of creme de cassis and floral characteristics, full-bodied power, supple tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and a long, savory finish. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 15+ years. ...more...(PDF)
2007 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
More background and structured, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve possesses copious black fruit, locorice, and forest floor notes s well as a boatload of tannin. While neither as charming nor accessible as the Juliet, it needs 3-4 years of cellaring, and should last for two decades thereafter. ...more..(PDF)
2006 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Absolutely profound is the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, which clearly puts Beau Vigne alongside the Shafer Hillside Select Cabernet as one of the stars of Stags Leap. A wine of great intensity, exceptional power, and admirable grace as well as equilibrium, this full-bodied 2006 offers...more...(PDF)
2006 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Guest Cottage
...it is a terrific Napa Cabernet Sauvignon offering up notes of graphite, black currants, sweet cherries, mocha, spicy wood, and a hint of earth...Although somewhat under the radar among the top Napa producers, Beau Vigne's offering are very impressive...more...(PDF)
2006 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Juliet
...A deep ruby/purple color is followed by beautiful aromas of blackberries, black currants, coffee beans, cedar, and toasty oak, a wine with vivid fruit, an expansive, savory mouthfeel, sweet tannin, and a long finish...more...(PDF)

2005 Juliet Cabernet Suavignon
"Chosen by Executive Wine Seminars...as being one of the 10 most exceptional wines of the year that are sanely priced cabernets under $100/bottle." ...more...(PDF)
Beau Vigne 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
"The 2005 vintage of California Cabernet continues to impress with these 11 exceptional wines from Napa and beyond" ...more...(PDF)
Detroit News
by Madeline Triffon, wine director for the Matt Prentice Restaurant Group
"...What distinguishes this particular Napa Cab is its purity of dark fruit: cassis, blackberry and blueberry abound. The oak is integrated, a quiet vanillin backnote. The tannins are correctly edgy and the wine is beautifully balanced" ...more...(PDF)
